County Officials Endorse Steinhilber

Eric Steinhilber, candidate for County Commissioner, picked up a handful of endorsements from elected Barnstable County office holders, today.

District Attorney Michael O’Keefe and Sheriff James Cummings both endorsed Steinhilber because of his support for the public safety efforts being made across Barnstable County.

“Eric is approachable and listens. He understands the challenges we face on Cape Cod when it comes to drug crimes. He supports the balanced approach I believe in, which means enforcement, education and treatment. He also understands the importance safe streets means for our residents, as well as the tourists much of our economy relies on,” said O’Keefe.

Cummings had high praise. “Eric toured our facilities and met with me to talk about the future of the dispatch center and how we can leverage our investment there to ensure towns can save money. He is passionate about finding solutions Cape residents can afford and not wasting tax dollars.”

Steinhilber also got the nod from Clerk of Courts Scott Nickerson and Register of Probate Anastasia Welsh Perrino.

“Like Eric, I am also a parent,” said Perrino. “Eric understands how the economy impacts families across the Cape. I see many families struggling to make ends meet and I know Eric will be a vigorous advocate for families on the County Commission.”

Nickerson praised Steinhilber for his fiscal conservatism. “Eric will be a watchdog for taxpayers, and with the difficult decisions we will be making in the next few years, we need to make sure the taxpayers are represented in every decision.”

Steinhilber expressed appreciation for the strong support from Cummings, O’Keefe, Perrino and Nickerson. “On day one, I will have a strong working relationship with other County officials, which will enable us to implement affordable, common sense solutions to the problems impacting the County. I am very grateful to each of them for their kind words, counsel and leadership on important issues facing families on Cape Cod.”

On the heels of an endorsement from longtime County official Mary LeClair, these endorsements give challenger Eric Steinhilber yet another boost to his campaign.

Eric Steinhilber lives in Barnstable with his wife and two small children. He is a Realtor and the Development Director for the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound. He is the Former Vice-Chairman of the Barnstable Economic Development Commission and Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Hyannis. For further information, please visit: www.EricForCC.com
