State Representative Dave Vieira of Falmouth tops the list of legislative endorsements. Former representatives Shirley Gomes of Harwich and Jeffrey Perry of Sandwich also gave Steinhilber a nod.
Representative Vieira said that he believes there is room for Steinhilber on the Commission. “People get two votes for the Commission, and I think Eric deserves one of them. He has passion on the issue of wastewater but he is equally passionate about all the issues we are facing. He is asking all the right questions, and we need people in office who are not afraid to ask questions.”
Perry praised Steinhilber for his understanding of local issues in the Upper Cape. “I have represented Sandwich, Bourne, Mashpee and Barnstable on Beacon Hill. As a representative, it was always important to have a firm grasp on the local issues, and how broader decisions would play out when put into practice. Eric has shown the ability to quickly understand how the County’s actions will help or hurt our towns.”
Former Harwich State Representative Shirley Gomes had similar praise. “This race is overshadowed by the Presidential election and the Senate election, so many people simply have not had a chance to learn more about the County Commission race. I hope folks take the time to learn about Eric. When I did, I was impressed enough to recommend him to all my friends and family. He is a smart, caring, passionate young family man.”
Steinhilber thanked the trio for their vote of confidence and support. “These individuals have proven to be vigorous advocates for the people they serve. I appreciate these endorsements and the acknowledgement of my efforts to protect taxpayers, grow our economy and keep families raising their kids on Cape Cod.”
Eric Steinhilber lives in Barnstable with his wife and two small children. He is a Realtor and the Development Director for the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound. He is Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Hyannis and Former Vice-Chairman of the Barnstable Economic Development Commission. For further information, please visit: www.EricForCC.com
